Profile

I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in the NHS. I specialise in working with individuals who have experienced major physical trauma, including life-changing injuries, intensive care treatment, and spinal cord injury. I am currently employed as lead clinical psychologist in major trauma in Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where I am also the clinical lead for Clinical Health Psychology.

I am HCPC registered and BABCP accredited, and I offer evidence-based psychological therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

As part of Restart Psychology Ltd., I provide clear, evidence-based medicolegal assessments of the psychological impact of major physical trauma. My clinical and research interests align closely with this work. I have published on trauma-related pain in The Bone & Joint Journal and contributed to guidelines on the psychological treatment of open fractures for the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons. I have also co-authored chapters including the psychological treatment of major trauma in The Oxford Specialist Handbook in Psychiatry.

I value the work that I do with clients and always aim to be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to the unique needs of each person. I support clients in processing trauma, adjusting to changes in appearance or physical capabilities, managing emotional distress, and reconnecting with their sense of identity and purpose.
