Profile
I am a Clinical Psychologist who works with people following life-changing physical health events. I provide psychological assessment and intervention within major trauma and critical care settings (adult, paediatric and neonatal). I take a compassionate and holistic approach to ensure that people’s psychological needs are met when recovering from life-threatening injury or illness.
I work with people who may be experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, appearance-related difficulties and health needs such as fatigue and sleep difficulties. I also work with people navigating loss or grief following life-changing injuries and/or bereavement, as well as individuals and couples experiencing relationship difficulties.
I trained at Royal Holloway, University of London, and the University of Bath. I am chartered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches for trauma, often integrating multiple approaches to meet each patient’s individual needs. These approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and the Flash Technique.
I have published research in multiple peer-reviewed journals. My research interests include understanding the impact of childhood trauma, congenital health conditions and physical health events on psychological wellbeing.
