Profile
I am a Clinical Psychologist based in Oxford. I have extensive experience supporting people recovering from significant physical injuries to rebuild confidence, work towards their goals and reconnect with the things in life that matter. My collaborative, non-judgemental and flexible approach allows me to build strong therapeutic relationships with my clients, understand their experience and tailor support to their specific needs.
I deliver integrative psychological treatment drawing on evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and narrative approaches. I am currently training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have particular interests in working with people experiencing difficulties including post-traumatic stress disorder, low mood, anxiety, appearance-related distress and distress relating to adjustment to life with long-term injury or disability.
I currently work in an NHS Physical Rehabilitation Psychology setting, providing expert psychological care in a major trauma centre, an acute spinal cord injury team and a prosthetics service. In my NHS role, I meet with patients at many stages of their recovery, from the first few days in an intensive care unit through to discharge from hospital and longer-term rehabilitation.
I am accredited with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
